Fun with Duskblade and Whirling Blade
« on: April 16, 2013, 06:56:02 PM »
Fun fact: If you get an extra standard action (or quicken it), a casting of Whirling Blade can do wonders with a 13th level Duskblade.

In fact, if you can get your hands on a Quickened Whirling Blade, you can do nasty things to people you don't like.

Why?

The 13th level version of Arcane Channeling specifies that all melee attacks you make until the end of the round gain the benefits of whatever Touch spell you channeled.

That 60ft of people you just smacked? They get smacked by whatever Bad Touch effect you can think of.

Have fun.

Wouldn't another fun thing that works like this be a Duskblade/(initiator base class)/Bloodstorm Blade?

I just realized another fun thing that works out in Gestalt:

Get 4 levels in Spellwarp Sniper and 7 levels in Enlightened Fist. You also need 13 levels of Duskblade and a class that gets Whirling Blade as a spell known (eh, Prestige Bard).

You can now cast Whirling Blade as a ray, which is turned into a Touch Attack with Enlightened Fist.

Channel Whirling Blade into a full attack.

Each attack lets you make a melee attack.

Thanks to Arcane Channeling, that melee attack also channels Whirling Blade.

Each attack gives you potentially an infinite number of attacks.

Now, we just need to get 1d2 Crusader onto the gestalt build, so we can (theoretically) make an infinite number of attacks that deal an infinite amount of damage...

That won't be more damage than just doing either. Infinity^2 = infinity.

But the second infinity is bigger.  Also, it matters very much if the opponent has DR that you can't punch through with a single attack.
I'm not arguing, I'm explaining why I'm right.
