Cleric Archer, isn't jargon, but it was/is a rather obvious touch stone ... especially for the blood line.  This is the start of the I'm better than a Fighter, and also a top caster.

Do you mind sharing a good definition for it, or perhaps a link to an example build? The only one I could think of is Dictum Mortuum's Quickstart Cleric Archer guide.

I'll add a link to Jack's book list in there somewhere, thank you.

It may be unfortunate that folks refer to generic builds to explain a small number of combos or interactions, but it is a common practise, so it's probably worth having listed. Perhaps I could explain the key rules interactions for each one (brevity allowing).

Do you think there's a better way to help someone understand an acronym other than citing the source for the mechanic? I may have missed a few citations, but I've tried to make sure that everything is sourced.

I think all forums have their quirks and in-jokes/ in-terminology. Since there's a fair amount of crossover between all the boards (eg. MinMax and BG host a lot of handbooks that folks on EN World, Paizo, and GitP use), it's probably worth elucidating anything that's likely to come up.

There is a fair amount of forum-specific content there, but it is useful for folks new to GitP to know.

Perhaps you have suggestions for some good terms that aren't forum specific?

Hey, folks. I've got a list of terminology I've been working on as part of my upcoming Cleric handbook. I figured it was necessary, since Mark Hall's list on GitP is a bit out-of-date, and of course the old WotC list isn't being updated/ easily found anymore. This thread is a repost of the original on GitP; feel free to comment here, itP, or on the doc itself.

If you folks can think of some terms or abbreviations that would be useful to add, particularly any in regards to 3.5, I'd appreciate it.

The webmaster for the website went AWOL a few months ago so we've been going on ever since without them.

I can't seem to find any info on who the webmaster is (which is probably a good thing). http://www.whois.com/whois/dndtools.pw

http://research.domaintools.com/research/whois-history/search/?q=dndtools.pw

"We have 15 historical records for Dndtools.pw.
There are at least 15 significant changes.
None of the records publish domain name ownership data; they all use a privacy or proxy service."

Edit: It looks like folks use about 12 pages per visit on average, and spend more than ten minutes there. That's quite above average for a website; I hope the owner realizes how important this site is to all of us, and re-hosts it.

I think the better question is do we know who runs .pw.
.pw is the country code for Palau.

Think of it like .com meets dialing 9 for international calls.

That's the country whose domain it is, yes, but who was the person running the site, and can they be contacted to provide a copy of the data or to let them know to rehost it, is what I meant.

Edit: Sorry if I was unclear; I meant to use .pw to differentiate between that dndtools and the Alycius dndtools.

I have no means of hosting at this point.

Do we know who hosts alcyius.com ?

I think the better question is do we know who runs .pw. That site was being updated, and had made some great progress. Alycius doesn't have some basic things like Hidden Talent (google cache to the rescue).

They just took down the D&D 3.5 miniatures gallery yesterday.  Does anyone have these?

I'm not sure what the miniatures gallery is, but Rubik on GitP has made a google drive with zips of all of the WotC web content. I personally have converted every monster image I could find on their site into a mini, but that's not online anywhere.

Link from the Index of 3.X WotC Threads.

The filters (at least on spells) aren't working for me. I guess it's time to make a bookmark to a custom google search. Does anyone know of a url I could use instead of having to c+p "site:etc" into google each time?

Thank you for this wonderful resource! I hope you don't mind if I heavily utilize it for research for my cleric handbook?

I found an error: WSAs Extrapolated, in the Constricting Whip entry, says Shining South is 3.0. None of the other ShS entries in that document say 3.0.

Edit: "Studded Leather, Impact" is mischaracterized in Armor v1.02. The armor is penetrated by piercing if it's DR 1/piercing, and thus "The wearer gains some amount of damage reduction against piercing attacks" is untrue.

Until there's an official announcement, I'm assuming that the date hasn't changed.

Not everything has been archived to the wayback machine. Without a person manually (or with a script?) adding the link to each individual page of each thread, things aren't backed up.

There's appx 24 hours left to mirror content.

There is one monster finder, but it doesn't allow for very complex searching (and on my machine/browser, I can't sort the results). This one has many, but not all creatures.

The other one only has 1000 creatures, but with much better search capability and respect to the OGL.

Since the threads have been merged, I'm going to unabashedly bump my earlier post to reiterate that GitP has an index of 3.X WotC material. There are directions on how to easily copy threads over in the first post. In the second post, there's a list of threads that have not yet been copied (to my knowledge).

Anyone willing to lend a hand is appreciated; I link to threads on GitP, RPG.net, EN World, BG, even google PDFs. Let me know if you have copied content, and I will add it to the index.

For folks interested in saving threads about other editions, EN World's Emergency Lifeboat is the best collection I have seen, though I haven't looked very hard.
