duration rules q
« on: May 20, 2013, 11:26:21 AM »
Where is the text that says when durations of things ends?

I know things end at the beginning of the next turn of the originator's initiative.

example - you cast a 1 end duration spell, or use a 1 end class feature. It ends at the beginning of your next turn.

Effects that last a certain number of rounds end just before the same initiative count that they began on.

I always play the random initiative roll each round rules - just because it takes the sequencing out of combat.  It makes these kinds of spell effects a bit of a chore to manage.  It's much more fun this way though.

interesting... that seems to give the higher initiative mods even more of a chance of avoiding going last.

Yeah, I suppose it does.  Anyone can roll a '1' though.  We've been playing Hackmaster recently, though, and the re-roll per round rules are quite refreshing after that game system where you can wait until the fight is almost over before you get your first go... :)

everyone has the same chance of a 1, but with a higher initiative bonus each round, your chances of getting higher are even better
