undead drain feat
« on: August 06, 2013, 03:12:13 PM »
is there a feat that applies a creature's ability damage/drain and/or energy drain to a spell?

i'm sure there's an item that applies it to a weapon

also there's the drow spell for adding a poison to a spell

I don't know of any feat that applies a creature's energy drain or ability damage/drain to a spell.

There is Fell Drain which adds a negative level for +1 spell level, but any caster can use it, whether or not they can energy drain themselves.  There's also Fell Weaken which gives a -4 penalty to Str for +1 spell level (doesn't stack with self).

There is a +3 Weapon Enhancement called Necrotic Focus (Libris Mortis, p77)
Quote
Necrotic Focus: The magic weapon serves as a channel for
the wielder’s ability drain or energy drain supernatural ability,
allowing the wielder to deal ability drain or bestow negative
levels through the weapon as if attacking with its natural
weapons. If a saving throw against the effect is allowed, add
the weapon’s enhancement bonus to the save DC. Only melee
weapons can have the necrotic focus ability.
Moderate necromancy; CL 7th; Craft Magic Arms and Armor,
enervation, spectral hand; Price +3 bonus.

The Drow spell you mention is probably Poison Spell

It's not what you're looking for, but you might find Spell Drain (Libris Mortis) interesting.
I'm not arguing, I'm explaining why I'm right.

Hold the charge for a touch spell and deliver it with your undead slam / incorporeal touch attack that drains a level?  What about combining it with Blood Wind somehow?

interesting ideas.

the reason i ask, was i've been browsing the Ghostwalk book here at work, and thought it would be pretty scary if you could apply your ghost ability touch feats. like multiple instances of damage and drain
