Help with CR 25 BBEG spell caster for Campaign

That's a grey area as far as my knowledge is concerned, I'm not sure if it qualifies as associated or not.

Ha, found it!  I remember way too much.

If you really want to get evil (and you're fine with divine casting instead of arcane), take a look at this.  Please note that is CR 14, and prestige class levels could easily replace those cleric levels.  Do whatever you want on top of that.

I think that in the actual book rules (as opposed to SRD) there's something about classes stop counting as nonassociated when class levels = racial hit dice. 

Go with the cold theme, my mind is now stuck on Mr. Freeze on a grand scale.

I'd actually thought about using an eldritch giant from mm3 (25 hd @ cr 15) an adding 20 class levels to make him cr 25. The giant hd aren't great, but he'd have an effective ecl of 45, which has to be good for something. Was thinking cleric levels with the circle magic prc for divine characters.

Hell, let's go with that. Or at least a giant plus class levels. Cleric 5+ hathran 5+ xx 10

He'd be lawful neutral but I don't enforce alignment restrictions on my players do so I'm not worried.
Used retaining rules to change feats to after getting spell casting.
Use plenty of divine meta magic persist for buffs

Also, the EpicD can (but don't have to) be taken at levels 12 15 18 and 20 for the level 30 capstone, and presumably level 21 for the "you succeeded your epic quest" fluff/crunch, they never clarified that.

Adding a nonassociated class level to a monster increases its CR by ½ per level until one of its nonassociated class levels equals its original Hit Dice. At that point, each additional level of the same class or a similar one is considered associated and increases the monster’s CR by 1.

Fey RHD is further out there, at 1/4 per in CR
although usually without casting at Adept levels.

and now im pondering 80 - 100 hd fey

Toward the higher end !
1+24 CR is X+96 HD, so you just need the initial conditions
down there at ~1 rhd + LA's? + CR adjustments.

It's kinda fun watching the assumed game maths implode all the way up there.

I'm not sure about the imp spell capacity feats, but couldn't think of anything better.

Lycanthrope doesn't add much to the CR for high HD creatures, but does add quite a lot in the stats and defenses. I remember seeing a were-tyrannosaurus template on a giant that was insane for the CR... Throw your spellcasting on top of that.

Not that it doesn't sound like fun, I'll actually going to file that away for later, but it doesn't really fit the theme of the campaign. That had to be a fun fight though.

Are there any spells that I should look into? I can't think of anything that being a huge giant really effects, but I'm by no means an expert in the master.

Would archivist be better than cloistered cleric so he has access to all divine spells?

I'm bad at spellcasters so I can't help much more than I already have.

Usually I'm best with non Vatican spell casters, psions and artificers being my most familiar classes, but for whatever reason, true spell casters I struggle with.
