Warforged Dreaming
« on: September 19, 2017, 12:41:56 PM »
DM here. D&D 3.5 campaign.

I want to use dreaming/portents in my adventure. I have two warforged in the PC group. Warforged don't sleep or dream. Anyway to make this happen? Any alternative suggestion? I realize this is not that big of a deal but I like things to "jive."

Thanks,
Necro

Ghost in the Machine , is a standard approach.  Might even be a trope idk.
Asimov + The Police as a for-instance.

Data had 2 dreaming episodes on ST:TNG.

Quori or Similar are trying to possess, for whatever horrible/normal reasons
and while Not succeeding, have various aftereffects.

Uncle Robot Gawd wants You !  (vision of uncle sam the animated toaster).
Honestly, deities can do this independent of Why.

The magic energies that created them are rather unknown.
Resonant leftovers trigger level 0 divs en masse.

You've got some non-Warforged PCs, right?

If so, don't use the Warforged PCs for dream-portend targets. Use the other PCs.

You can get the Warforged players (not PCs) involved, too: hand one or both of them a script to read from. They do the funny voices for the dream-portend. The whole party can be involved in the analysis, too.

It's okay if some characters don't get to participate, just make sure the players are all engaged.
