Best thing about the splitting ability is that it doesn't reduce the damage output of the resulting oozes and that you could eventually end up fighting 11 black puddings or 29 elder black puddings.

Sure they have 10hp each but each time they split their damage output effectively doubles along with their number of actions.

Now, if only those oozes had some means of rapidly healing...
Everything is edible. Just that there are things only edible once per lifetime.
It's a god-eat-god world.

Procrastination is the thief of time; Year after year it steals, till all are fled,
And to the mercies of a moment leaves; The vast concerns of an eternal scene.

Give them the Troll-Blooded Feat xD
/edit: and that Maneuver for 2*lvl healing as swift action is pretty nice in combination with that lifestealing stance + strike.

Is there a way to give an ochre jelly an aura that deals electricity damage?  Add on something that removes the need to breathe and eat and some form of fast healing, and they can self-replicate indefinitely.

If it's possible to awaken it, do so then have it take Vow of Poverty and Troll-Blooded?

Level 15 party, 4 players, second encounter of the day of four total, what do you think? (first encounter will be harmless, third will be bossfight, fourth will be ambush on the party)

I don't think the bit with Warblade works, since creatures need at least 3 Int to have character class levels.  I haven't found the exact ruling on that, but it's heavily implied with the Half Orc because of the line "A half-orc’s starting Intelligence score is always at least 3. If this adjustment would lower the character’s score to 1 or 2, his score is nevertheless 3."

Add on Fiendish and you're good to go with those class levels!

The lowest entry version I can see for some craziness is this;

Celestial Sentry Ochre Jelly Ranger 6 with Troll Blooded, Sacred Vow, Vow of Poverty, Nymph's Kiss, Vow of Obedience and Nemesis
Favoured Enemy; Whatever humanoid populations are nearest or most likely to steal from the dungeon; human, halfling, dwarf, kobold etc.
CR 15, or lower if you don't use variants to trade out animal companion and combat expertise

Sounds like a pretty awesome trap monster to release if PCs steal something, splitting and relentlessly pursuing our heroes through the corridors.

Troll blooded can only be taken at first level, not 3rd. Shame.

Shadow Creature would increase their speed, give them 90% concealment in a dungeon (until someone casts daylight or true seeing), 2 points of fast heal if you'd like as well as some other fun stuff.

If you grant them some intelligence; they/it could use the Plane Shift ability to send one of the new oozes to the plane of shadows for backup.

Also a very easy source of XP. :D

In my defence, I was just heading to bed when I wrote that. But let's all laugh at the late night poster.

Correction: You gain nine tenths concealment

Happy?  ;)

which Shadow template are you looking at?

the one in the Lords of Madness has total concealment, while in the Manual of the Planes has nine-tenths concealment

Lords of Madness is the most up-to-date version.  There is no such thing as 9/10 concealment in 3.5e anymore.

Ah, I thought it was a little over the top myself. Once again I excuse myself and promise to read LoM instead of MotP

don't forget that cube monks get enhanced speed.

i do love the looks on my players faces when a cube suddenly charges them at 50' movement rate, improved trips them, and then "grapples" them.
