Boon

Boon's devilish grin fades as he slowly snaps back to reality. " Ya... you right. Good thinking  :lol " Boon gives him a slap on the back as he chuckles.

Snowy

Seeing as there is no further need to stay in her cat form, Snowy furtively finds a back street to hide from the townfolks (taking 10 if a check is needed, totalling 22) so to transform back into her humanoid form. She then comes back to the group from another corner of the street saying " Haven't found what I was searching for... ;) Anyway, lets find a calmer place; my head's starting to hurt around these parts.. "

Isaac racks his brains, and suddenly remembers that there's a halfling-run tavern (known for high-quality food and low-to-the-ground chairs) called the Tiny Lancer nearby.

You find the sign of a knight mounted on a riding dog with no trouble, and are seated after a short wait.  The setting sun streams in through the rippled glass of the windows, seeming to light the tables and occupants on fire.  The hot stew, though simple, is full of flavor, and your bodies relax after the two days of travel, even as your minds burn with questions and ideas.

Once you've finished your meal, with full bellies you sip the hearty ale and discuss your findings.

Feeling very out of place Boon will retell the info he gained from the barkeep. Carefully observing the patrons, ever watchful for Doolin's Spy's

"So he went travelling far enough that he thought he would need a horse, but not more than a day's ride at a time... Legion, Snowy, did you two find anything in the man's room, aside from his name?"

"Well, we found his papers and some letters from a guy from his church or something... Oh, and we did find some bucks and other junks." says the girl on a lower tone. She turns her head to Legion, saying "You can show 'em Legion."

Legion lays out the things found in the man's room before them on the table and says "We also saw a map. I couldn't make much out of it, but I did memorize it. Maybe some of you can figure out what it means."

He takes a piece of parchment and quill and begins sketching it out for his companions, along with marking where the pins had been on the original.

(take 20 on autohypnosis and whatever covers cartography to get it correct)

Map

Items: what looks like a wand, some money (~27 gp), letters and traveling papers, and a small book of religious texts ((mwk item for +2 Knowledge: Religion and Decipher Script)), and a small case with some vials in it.

Kyle

Kyle studies silently the items Legion and Snowy found in the dead man's room and listens as they speak.

"Identifying the wand and these vials would take me some time but I think it might be worth it. I don't like running around with unidentifyed items. As to the map... Maybe I can make something of it."

Kyle takes the map drawn by Legion and analyzes it, recalling his geography studies, trying to figure out if the spots marked on it match the location of some place he knows of.

((A reminder to everyone that Khatyan's map is posted in the Campaign Info thread if you'd like to look at it.  Legion sketched it with the pins and black thread included.))

((EDIT: Also, a repost of the letters and papers info:))

Quote
In the bag you find some assorted clothes of the style that the dead man was wearing.  At the bottom you find a coin purse ((about 30gp in silver and copper)), some traveling and identification papers, and a few letters bound with twine.

According to his traveling papers, the dead man's name was Sarkha Khatyan, and he was an itinerant scholar and pilgrim from Assynia.  The papers bear a religious seal on them.

The letters seem to be from another member of his church, named "Fatoumh"; the two were apparently arguing about something.  From what you can reconstruct (only having one side of the conversation), Fatoumh believed that Khatyan was shirking his religious duties at the Temple of Thoth to head off on some wild goose chase.

Kyle

After roughly ten minutes of studying and unintelligible mumbling on the map and the other items, Kyle turns to his friends and after a long sigh speaks: "I don't know what to make of the vials and the wand. I'll have to use a spell for that but it will require at least a day, I'm afraid. As to the map, it shows Augury." The young mage then starts to point every spot marked on the map, explaining the country it is in, and his distance from them.

"My idea is that he marked the spot of the objects he was looking for. Someway he knew where they where, maybe not precisely, but he knew enough to mark these spots on a map. I guess it would be safe to assume that the stone we have is the one he found in this area, here" continues indicating the spot marked near Springley Downs. "And... that said, I think we should go to a library and do some more research on the stone, these locations and how they might be connected. Maybe in history books we'll find the key to unlock this mystery. Only when every information will be gathered, we'll proceed to the next step. Step that I'm afraid might involve scouting these location ourselves."

Once he finishes, the human leans back on his small chair and waits to hear his friends' ideas.

Believe.

Isaac hadn't been paying as much attention, barely registering what Kyle had said. He was looking at the map, lost in wonder at the worlds he might see on this odd task. He should have said goodbye to Mother, and Jenna, and Garet. "I can help with identifying the items; they might be useful to us, if this man thought they'd be useful to him. My mother and father were both spellcrafts, remember; it's in my blood. Also, I learned a lot from the Father; more about religion and the occult, but I'm good with research."

Intelligence check. (1d20+2=16)

Kara looked at the map and shrugged. "Just a bunch of random lines. Whoever drew them was as bad as the artist who drew the random lines on the back of the stone."
Hmm.

Thinking about her words, she says, "Hmmmmmmm." As she takes the stone from Boon's pack and put it on the table carefully (she's stronger than she looks).

"Yeah, they do kind of line up. And the green spot on the stone matches this eastern country here... 'Arsenica' or something." she says, clearly knowing nothing about the names of non-neighboring countries. "And there's another dot in our country...guess he brought this one with him while looking for the other?"
Hmm.

Legion looks at the young girl with a new appreciation. "You display a surprising level of intellect for a girl of slave stock."

"Umm. Thanks...I think. I'm pretty good at observations, but he's the brains." she points at Isaac. Then she remembered. "Oh. You don't have a brain, do you...sorry."
Hmm.

"Ok..." says the wizard breaking the awkward silence created after the brief banter between Legion and Kara.

If everyone is okay with it, I'll start researching about this locations tomorrow, and then we'll go there to investigate once we know something more.

Boon

:plotting Deep in thought Boon doesn't say much during the party's talking. He has never been much of a deep thinker. So he sit's back and wait's for his 'brothers and sister's' to take care of all the deep strategizing.
