Dark Shadows Movie Trailer

I used to watch Dark Shadows when I was a kid and it seemed interesting. It's been a while but I see Netflix has added some of it to their Instant Queue. It's a supernatural soap opera (for lack of a better word). However, Tim Burton is doing a movie (starring Johnny Depp, of course) loosely based on the series.

Aside from the effects looking too good and the absrud amount of hackneyed, safe comedy, I don't have much rage to go around.

Whenver I hear the term "Tim Burton film" i always brace for impact, because I know it just is not going to live anywhere near up to expectations that people say it will.  He's just not that good at making movies.  He's talented, I just think he should stick to.....probably producing or writing.  But not directing.  Definitely not directing.  He's an idea guy, not a director.

If you've seen the original series, then you'll know why the internet will be awash with Dark Shadow's fandom version of grognards complaining about this and that and how DAN CURTIS wouldn't have let this happen. Dan Curtis being their Gary Gygax.

Think about how the shit hit the fan with 4E: "Gary Gygax is barely in his grave, and this is what Wizard's give us."

Except this seems entertaining to me.
