[Pathfinder/3.5] Naturally Resistant to Possession?
« on: March 28, 2012, 02:42:47 AM »
Are there any PC playable races that are naturally resistant to possession? Barring that, is there a way to get constant Protection from Evil? Looking to do up a one-shot where the players are the only ones who weren't possessed and body snatched by demons or devils.
I reject your reality and substitute my own.

Custom magic items for Pro: Evil, or one of the savage species races with Magic Circle against Evil. DMM Persist magic circles, perhaps.

Ghostwalk has the protection from possession spell, which is more limited than protection from evil but lasts longer.  The guidelines suggest a price of 3,000 gp for a continuous item of that.

Ghostwalk also has dracanite helm, which provides a +2 deflection bonus and continuous protection from possession for 12,000 gp.  It's actually 500 gp cheaper than you'd expect from the guidelines.

There's portable shrines as equipment in Pathfinder. If a party member can carry one, you can put a Hallow on it for a permanent Magic Circle effect with a radius of forty feet.

They're bloody heavy though, but I suppose if you got a wagon or a PC strong enough to wear a miniature temple on a backpack...
Everything is edible. Just that there are things only edible once per lifetime.

Only 40 pounds, actually. A Str-primary tank should be able to cart one around.
