Leadership - what cohort to choose

Hello,

I recently took Leadership feat and now I'm thinking what should I have as a cohort.
Let's assume that I can create this character from scratch using 32 points buy system, what should I create?
I'm playing Cloistered Cleric with DDM cheese (currently level 6 with leadership score of 8).
What build will supplement me the most?
I was thinking about Shadow Human Cleric/Wizard with dual progression but to be honest I'm not sure if it will do any good.

Any suggestions?

Leadership is powerful enough, so don't worry too much.

Technically, you can pick the "race" (singular)
and the "class" (singular) ; but that's only when
it first shows up.  Then if the cohort likes you
you can start molding him (... or her )
into what you want.

Your cohorts max level is 2 under your, so that's 4.
Cleric 4 is fine. Or Wizard 4. 
Dual Caster is not really a good choice.
The cohort is already 2 levels down. You don't
want to lose that many more Caster Levels.

There's a handbook somewhere on fiends of possession. They make interesting cohorts, although it can be tricky to set up.

An Artificer can make for a spiffy cohort, as can a Psion (Telepath)/Mindbender.

Healer from Miniatures Handbook. Never again will you have to waste any of your spells on healing for the rest of the group.

I think that I will give a try to Warforge Artificier.
Never played that class so it may be fun to have him as cohort.
