Bonus HD: As the planar servant's master grows in power, so too does the servant. It gains two additional racial hit dice according to its type for every three levels its master possesses. These additional hit dice grant all of the usual benefits of advancing a creature by its racial hit dice other than size increases.
Natural Armor: The planar servant's natural armor bonus to its Armor Class increases as indicated on the table above. If it does not have an existing natural armor bonus, treat its base natural armor bonus as +0.
Strength Bonus: The planar servant gains a bonus to its Strength score as indicated on the table above. This bonus does not apply when the servant's Strength score is set to a specific value (such as the result of a
polymorph spell).
Intelligence Score: A planar servant is more intelligent than other creature's of its type. It gains a bonus to its Intelligence score as indicated on the table above. If this would result in a lower Intelligence score than the value in brackets, its Intelligence score instead becomes the value in brackets. Determine if the servant's Intelligence score would be set to this value (and set it to this value) before applying any other modifications to the servant's Intelligence score (such as bonuses from level, inherent bonuses, and penalties from spells and effects) other than those resulting from race or templates. This modification does not apply when the servant's Intelligence score is set to a specific value (such as the result of a
polymorph any object spell).
Empathic Link (Su): The master has an empathic link with his servant out to a distance of up to 1 mile. The master cannot see through the servant’s eyes, but they can communicate empathically. Because of the limited nature of the link, only general emotional content can be communicated. Because of the empathic link between the servant and the master, the master has the same connection to a place or an item that the servant does.
Share Saving Throws (Ex): For each of its saving throws, the servant uses its own base save bonus or its master's, whichever is higher. The servant applies its own ability modifiers to saves, and it doesn’t share any other bonuses on saves that the master might have.
Share Spells: At the master's option, he may have any spell (but not any spell-like ability) he casts on himself also affect his servant. The servant must be within 5 feet at the time of casting to receive the benefit. If the spell has a duration other than instantaneous, it stops affecting the servant if it moves farther than 5 feet away and will not affect the servant again even if the servant returns to the master before the duration expires. Additionally, the master may cast a spell with a target of “You” on his servant (as a touch range spell) instead of on himself. A master and his servant can share spells even if the spells normally do not affect creatures of the servant’s type.
Evasion (Ex): If the planar servant of a 3rd level or higher master is subjected to an attack that normally allows a Reflex saving throw for half damage, it takes no damage if it makes a successful saving throw. A helpless servant does not gain the benefit of Evasion.
Speak with Master (Ex): If the master's level is 3rd or higher, the master and servant can communicate verbally as if they were using a common language. Other creatures do not understand this communication without magical help. Servants who do not speak any language that their master understands can use this to communicate with their master, and servants who can already be understood can use this to communicate privately with their master.
Devotion: Once its master reaches 6th level, and again at 12th level and 18th level, the planar servant's devotion to its master spurs it on to improved feats of skill and power. Its master can choose one of the following benefits each time, permanently granting the servant that ability.
Blood Bond (Ex): The servant gains a +2 bonus on all attack rolls, checks, and saves if it witnesses its master being threatened or harmed. This bonus lasts as long as the threat is immediate and apparent.
Bonus Feat: The servant gains any one feat that it qualifies for as a bonus feat. This ability can be selected multiple times.
Channel Spells (Su): The master can cast spells through the servant. As long as the master has line of sight and line of effect to the servant, the master may determine range, line of sight, and line of effect for spells that he casts from the servant's position and with the servant's senses instead of his or her own. The master may do so no more than once per day per three hit dice of the servant. Only servants with the Deliver Spells ability can gain this ability.
Deliver Spells (Su): The servant can deliver touch spells for its master. If the master and servant are in contact at the time the master casts a touch spell, he can designate his servant as the “toucher.” The servant can then deliver the touch spell just as the master could. As usual, if the master casts another spell before the touch is delivered, the touch spell dissipates.
Devoted Companion (Ex): The servant cannot be swayed from its master's side. It gains immunity to all charm and compulsion effects that would cause it to act against its master's wishes.
Improved Speed (Ex): The servant's base speed increases by 10 feet. This applies to all movement modes it possesses.
Improved Spell Resistance (Ex): The servant's existing spell resistance improves by 5 and it can raise or lower it at any time without an action, even when it is not conscious or unaware. This ability can be selected multiple times. Its effects stack. Only servants with existing spell resistance can gain this ability.
Multiattack (Ex): The servant gains a second attack with its primary natural weapon, albeit as a secondary natural weapon. It also gains Multiattack as a bonus feat (even if it does not qualify for it). Only servants with a primary natural attack (not including unarmed strikes) can gain this ability.
Share Skills (Ex): The servant may use its own skill ranks or its master's, where beneficial, for all purposes.
Telepathy (Su): The servant gains telepathy out to 30 feet while within 1 mile of its master. With respect to its master, the range of this telepathy is instead 1 mile.
Winged (Ex): The servant sprouts a pair of wings, granting it a fly speed equal to twice its base land speed and with average maneuverability.
Turn Immunity (Ex): The planar servant of a 6th level or higher master can never be turned or rebuked.
Spell Resistance (Ex): If the master's level is 9th or higher, the servant gains spell resistance equal to the master's level + 10.
Improved Evasion (Ex): If the servant of a 15th level or higher master is subjected to an attack that normally allows a Reflex saving throw for half damage, it takes only half damage on a failed saving throw. This benefit is in addition to the one granted by Evasion. A helpless servant does not gain the benefit of Improved Evasion.
