So this game, Montreal and Ottawa. Holy cow. I've never seen as many penalty minutes called in such a short time before. 50 minute in one instance of fighting. All 10 players on the ice were given penalties. That's 50 minutes. Shortly after this was all sorted out (like 15 minutes), Ottawa scores. Then more penalties. Then more. There are 20 players on a bench at one time (18 players and two goalies). There was a time when both teams had their 4 players on ice (and then a goalie each) and then only 5 players on the bench. Simple math: that's 9 players, half the team, in the box at once. It's so bad that they have forwards playing defense. The score is so bad one of ottawa's player's has his first three playoff goals all scored in this period. As of 1:00 left, yet another fight, yet another Ottawa power play. And now it's over, 237 total minutes, 125 to Montreal, 107 to Ottawa. Not the record, but holy cow did they rack up a lot of minutes here. Final score: 6-1. Wow.
