About Fast Healing

I was looking through my books, and came upon Evolved Undead, in Libris Mortis. It grants fast healing, which is nothing new, but it's possible to receive the template multiple times. My question is, what happens when a creature takes the template twice, or has pre-existing fast healing? Do they stack straight up?

The exact text reads:

Fast Healing (Ex): An evolved undead heals 3 points of damage
each round so long as it has at least 1 hit point.

It's looking like a technical no since it says it merely grants Fast Healing 3, not increases the creature's Fast Healing by 3.  However, letting it be increased each time shouldn't be a problem at all.

And since I tend to DM whatever game I'm in since it's rare that others will step up to the plate, that's pretty much a blanket FH stack. Thanks.

Hmm... Can a template, by RAW, be applied more than once to the same base creature?
In other words: can an Evolved Undead become even more evolved?

I searched for a while (not long, i confess) but couldn't find a rule denying or allowing it...

Generally no, but this template calls itself out as an exception.
