Leaving behind your new acquaintance to guard the entrance for your (hopeful) return, you take a deep, slow breath in trepidation (except for Legion, who doesn't breathe). Then, one at a time you enter the tunnel.
As you pass through the archway, the rune in the keystone suddenly flares a brilliant green, and a thin mist seems to rise from your skin, dissipating immediately. You feel refreshed and renewed, as if a great weight was lifted from your shoulders that you hadn't known was there. Your breathing is easier, your vision sharper. You can't help but continue on with a spring in your step.
The floor dips down sharply, quickly taking you below ground level. The walls are rough-hewn stone, man-made by primitive tools and weathered from centuries of snow and ice. Shortly past the entrance, the tunnel hooks to the right, then follows a slow counterclockwise curve before reaching a fork. To the left the passage seems to open out into a chamber, and the right continues on.
