And for those who read Portuguese: http://noticias.r7.com/cidades/suspeito-preso-diz-que-policia-foi-chamada-mais-de-1-hora-antes-de-arbitro-ser-morto-e-decapitado-05072013

Along with the case of a Utah soccer player who killed a ref by punching him, we should really get soccer players to take their heads out of their asses and not get so pissy about certain calls, and the refs shouldn't get so pissy either come to think of it.

True, but I've rarely seen the level of violence soccer seems to inspire.

High school football comes close sometimes..

When my father was in high school our town was banned from playing another town because of the fights that broke out.  Cops were tred of it.

That does not surprise me. I thought California was one of the leading states performing non-consensual sterilization procedures during the whole eugenics movement. This was primarily done on minorities at the time rather than prisoners.

Breastfeeding mother kicked out of NY Country Club, police had hands on gun and taser, and suggested they might be terrorists. Turns out she was the wife of a Belgian diplomat (who was eating dinner with her). And NY has specific laws protecting mothers' rights to breast feed in public...

Florida sets the precedent that an aggressor can initiate conflict and still claim self defense.

Seriously... This is fucked up.

I don't care if the other person IS going to kill you, it is ludicrous to think you can claim self defense when you are the aggressor in a situation. And yes, grabbing a gun and following someone makes you an aggressor.

I think a major part of it is a poorly-worded "stand your ground" law.

Also, Florida's legal system is so fucked up that bestiality is legal due to a technicality.

Could you explain this to me? I only heard the story about a Florida judge who told a man there's no constitutional right to sleep with alligators.

Dude engaged in sexual contact of his genitals with the mouth of an animal, but did not penetrate the mouth of the animal - which isn't explicitly forbidden.

"If the rules don't say it isn't allowed, then it must be allowed" is an argument that you should be familiar with after too much time on these boards, so think of it that way.

Sparklers are a more serious threat for lighting bombs than, say, matches... how? Is it the delayed-burn thing, because... candle wicks aren't exactly restricted, either.
