Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the "best" fighter fix.  The feats had me laughing so hard I was crying.  Partly because the guy is serious.

Guessing you're laughing because it's the "throw more feats at it!" approach?  It might bring the fighter up to a consistent T4.

No, it was the feats themselves.  For example, the "Determined" feats.

I like some of the feats' ideas, but I think most of them are so weak that they should just be given to every character for free...

Why not tell him why his fix is bad so he can improve? This will help him become a valuable member of the community.

The sad fact about the GitP Homebrew community is that he is probably going to get a massive amount of positive feedback; if I remember correctly, there is barely any crossover between their Homebrew and their Optimization boards.

You'd be drowned out.

In another thread, he was extremely adamant that this is what a fighter should be.

And I quote:

You want to make a Fighter viable? How about a guy who deals D10+20 damage before strength, before magic weapon abilities, and deals four attacks per round! Screw you, Wizard! A Fighter like that will kill your whole damn school before you can say "I Wish this was still 3.0!"

While I don't think it's representative of their entire community, I think the initialization might be appropriate in some cases.  Git P.

The fighter fix that I think might actually be able to do something is http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=140278.  Being able to take a -70 to hit, but automatically kill the hit target, is fairly decent.

I was recently looking at this and it's probably my favourite out of the small number of fighter fixes I've seen.
Do you know how long someone who is as sarcastic as I am would last in prison? Suuuuuuch a long time.

I suppose if he's saying that a 20th level fighter could slaughter an entire school of 1st level wizards (I'm assuming no more than 20 students), then he'd probably be right, if the fighter caught them by surprise.  Too bad we know he doesn't mean that...

The others forgot another reason it isn't worth doing what you suggest.
Aside from the reasons that he'll get a lot of positive feedback.
If you go in with a critique on something like this over there, the others (meaning the poster and those that approve of his re-work wholesale) get quite quickly volatile about issues. Sometimes they don't, but from the threads over there I read, I see a trend. We have 1-2 posters who have attitudes. They have lots.
And then, because you were the one who 'detracted' from the thread, you'd be the one who gets banned.
Really, for SirP and others, it isn't going to be generally worth it. They've got other things going on over there. They do a lot. And even if the risk of being banned is only 5%, it still isn't worth trying to explain things to them.

And it wouldn't do any good anyway. You can teach someone who doesn't know, but you can't teach someone who knows. An that's the way it is on a lot of other sites. That's why I'm here. I enjoy educated conversation. Educated, and Conversation are both key words there.

I don't see why they are up in arms about AC4 when Skyrim has a quest dedicated to slaughtering bears wholesale because some chick hates them.

Bears aren't cute and cuddly?  I don't know.  All I know is that PETA is wacko.

PETA is a great non religious example of the reason the expression "Fundies are bad, period." is becoming more and more true every single day. I guess these days they have to get even more irrational and adamant about their beliefs in order to counter the increasing rationalization power and free thinking of today's society.

I wish both me and my son could be frozen in time and awake when humanity is in better days. Alas, this is not possible. Yet. Maybe my grandson or his son will see stuff like this. So i hope.

PETA is dumb.  I'm all for not treating animals cruelly (don't torture them, encourage free-roaming over factory slaughterhouses), but they keep picking these fictional non-issues as though they don't have any bigger fish to fry.  And portraying half-naked women covered in vegetables in ads isn't enough to turn people vegetarian.

Also, PETA are hypocrites because they euthanize a lot of animals in their care.
