Isaac will take a 5 ft step diagonally to the square above Legion. He will draw his greatsword, and then ready an action to attack and psionic weapon the thing if it comes into range.
I'm pretty sure this thing has reach, Flay. So it's probably going to just smash you from where it stands, and not trigger your readied action. :P
This is exactly why this week is bad for my posting...
I'm here and ready to keep confusing the hell out of everyone I meet.

Why don't we just wait and see how the ogre reacts to Legion's shiny death ray (now with 75% less death) first? This battle could easily be over before it begins.

This dice roll has been tampered with!
Rolled 1d20+3 : 20 + 3, total 23
So much for that... lucky bastard.

Think of it this way: that could have been a critical threat.

OK... I'm going to start retooling Legion over to a Binder 1/Wyrm Warrior 1. Since he didn't really get any abilities of note from binder 2, it shouldn't cause any logical inconsistencies.

If anyone has any comments or suggestions for what ideals or maneuvers I should pick up, I'm all ears. :D

Take levels in Cleric, define the deity you worship as having your exact ideals. Essentially, worship yourself.

As you perform low level cure spells (Be it through a wand of vigor or actual access to cure spells) others will have faith in your chosen divinity. Eventually such faith will flourish into an actual Divine Rank (Which is the only thing I've never seen any homebrew actually grant, so this may be a first).

Be sure to remember us all when you're a god.

I said I'd take suggestions for ideals and maneuvers, not classes. :P I could see if any of the ideals grant healing abilities, but I think if we can manage to wrangle up a wand of Lesser Vigor, we'll probably be OK. Although, if you all want to convert to Undead or take Tomb-Tainted Soul, I could cure you all with a touch.  :smirk

Speaking of which... let's look over these dudes' equipment. And is that "knight" still alive?

Very well, then I suggest you MANEUVER yourself into a position of divinity.

As for the knight, the armor was described as dented and bloody, and the figure was described as unmoving, so my bits are on "gone to join the Choir Invisible".

Radiant Dragon grants Healing Touch at 4.  That's a little ways off, though... I'm sure one of the forthcoming Ideals will have Devoted Spirit.

Seriously, since you're doing this I'm going to prioritize making Ideals.  So pick a couple, and then if some new ones come up soon that are more delectable, then you can swap at that point as necessary.

The ones I'm considering (and why) are listed in a spoiler in my character sheet, actually, along with a tentative list of maneuvers chosen and a stance. Recopied below for your convenience:

Quote
Primary Ideals: Pyroclastic (Breath of Fire discipline), Shadow (Hide, Autohypnosis, awesome discipline), Tartarian? (discipline is based on Intimidate, and looks good)
Other Ideals to consider (and probably take later): Song (Perform, Disguise), Battle (Bardic Music), Styx also looks interesting, if I decide to go towards grappling
Howling is quite good also. Shatter and Gust of Wind as Ideal abilities, and very strong options based on Intimidate as maneuvers.

Stance: Pale Horseman's Reckless Harvest: deal Str mod in damage to all threatened enemies on each successful attack. -2 penalty to AC and attacks while using this stance.
Maneuvers: Devlish Catharsis (AE 1, boost): Single target makes Will save or frightened.
Smoking Burn (BoF 1, boost): After using breath weapon, cloud of smoke left behind for 1 round + 1/4 ranks in spellcraft.
Clawing Back Time (SN 1, strike): Gain 1d4+IL temporary hit points after successful strike

And actually... comparing them again, I'm thinking of going with Howling as a primary over Tartarian. Shatter at will is pretty nice, plus there is a boost that lets you intimidate (demoralize) anyone you attack as a free action. Combined with the stance above, which is basically like a toned down Sweeping Strike, that should let me demoralize everyone within my reach as a free action every time I make a successful attack roll. :D

Edit: Character updated.

I was going for a choice between "Why is it...oh...", "Umm, guys...a little help here." or "quickly, we need to burn it before it gets up!". But a roll of 4 opened another option up. :)
Hmm.

What's the timing of this creature's revival? How long after the first part of the fight concluded?

About a minute.  So Isaac gets the benefit of 10 rounds of Sorrel's particular brand of TLC.

By the way, phae, are you going to change any of your Ideals based on the new ones that have been posted?  And, of course, more will be soon...

Isaac's had 6 damage turned into 3 nonlethal (or will over the next 3 rounds), and I'm out of rituals.

I can either start shooting immediately or spend a round to get +2 attack and damage. Any suggestions?

Yeah. Don't miss!

Though, my suggestion would be to take the round and get the bonuses. If you take the attack and miss, it's a dead round anyway. Is it a one round thing only, though, or does it have a duration?

If it's just the one time thing, may not be as worth it then. Cuts your attack progression essentially in half.

It lasts for 3 rounds of actual use. I'd be using Quicken Ritual to cast Ritual Focus as a full-round action (instead of taking 1 minute), and then discharge it next turn before my attacks. Napkin math says the bonus breaks even after about 3 rounds of combat, so it's only a net gain if we go into round 4.

Yeah, I was going to say you're probably better off just attacking.

Aww man... that means I actually have to make a decision. :P I don't really have time right now to look them all over carefully... Thursdays are one of my two busiest days of the week at work. I guess I'll go with what I have with the caveat that I might change up later, if that's OK.

I have a question, though. Posted it in the class thread: http://www.minmaxboards.com/index.php?topic=6253.msg97131#msg97131
