Pretty locked down at my work. Course if I could get away with that stuff then I probably would and I wouldn't get much else done  :cool

Uh oh what did you guys walk in to now  :plotting.

Put a new section in for the battle maps. This way I will just keep modifying the first post. Once the encounter is done I will put a clean version in the maps and handouts section to remember it by. This way it wont clutter the maps and handouts section.

Remember we need Everyn out of the way to bring in Aurenn's character Gamesh......

Atanos, I will repost your request here. I can modify the posts in the Heroes section to let you know the role they are filling.

Atanos wanted to know what role everyone was filling int he party so he knows who to stick close to and heal.

Briefly here is the list as well;
Soff'a = Swordmage = Defender Role (tank)
Dunor = Warden = Defender Role (tank)
Dalanath = Rogue = Striker Role (melee damage dealer)
Thespias = Sorcerer = Striker Role (ranged damage dealer)
Atanos = Cleric = Leader Role (healer/buff)
Everyn = Wizard = Controller Role (crowd control)
Gamesh = Battlemind = Defender Role (tank) [you'll be meeting him soon]

With all these tanks running around you have your work cut out for you Atanos :D

Going to remove your post in the Heroes section since that is strictly character sheets.

Actually rather then me updating each post in the heroes section. Could each of you put in the roles. Another thing we have learned in the DoD campaign is when in combat in your post try to put your current HPs in your spoiler block of your post. helps if the healer knows what your are at.

Yeah, that's a good idea. Also, Dunor is supposed to be a tank with a secondary focus split between control and striker, as he's capable of putting out decent damage and has a bunch of powers for either hitting several enemies and/or moving people around the battlefield. Though that really comes more into play at later levels.

Looks like Dunor's next up.

Feel free to roll other Nature checks to see you you know what the creatures are. Everyn's was untrained. Monster Knowledge checks are no action stuff, you either know it or you don't.

In fact, if you all want, from now on I can put that in a spoiler block for combating monsters about which is the relevant skill check. Will save time later of a player asking which skill roll for monster knowledge and then waiting on my response.

Yes. You fell victim to a terrain hazard. See my post just under yours in the game thread. You get a saving throw. 1d20. 10 or more and you don't fall in and are at X15. 9 or less and you fall in at W15 and are prone. With a terrain hazard similar to a pit trap, the PC's movement ends when it's encountered.

If you do end up falling in. Its a 10 foot fall. Climbing out requires a Athletics check. I describe what's down there once I see if you fall in or not hehe.

I am not singling you out. In your unmod'd post and the modified version you ran directly at targets that happened to take you through patches of weakened ground. If we had all been sitting around a table it would be easier for me to stop you once you moved through a square containing the weakened ground. I could have explained it right away and had you roll the save right away. It is the reason I sent you an email from work right when I saw it to try to stave off any confusion when I posted.

I had hoped to have Everyn blunder into it first so I could show terrain hazards working before anyone else encountered it. So in the new round instead I had him see you in danger of falling and as he tried to run to your aid he fell victim to another patch of weakened ground.

Let me throw up a post on how to identify it now that it has been encountered. Normally if someone rolled a perception before charging in (moinor action) they may have seen the cracks in the ground. I deemed this was not a passive type of check for this one. A monster knowledge roll would have clued everyone in that this hazard was around.

So I stress the importance of remembering your skills will give you an advantage in many situation. Someone should probably stop and roll a perception at the start of an encounter. Monster knowledge gives you information on the monster (as well as some of its game mechanics too, like type and keyword, plus resistances and powers if the roll is high enough)

I have modified the Round Results post in the game thread with a spoiler block showing some details on the terrain hazard.

Melblen, all is cool, absolutely no worries - Serves me right for blundering in.  :)  I will make a save roll (somehow I missed your spoiler note).

BTW, I am trying not to spam skill checks on you - especially history checks.  Will save them for when it makes sense (Of course, it makes sense that next time Søffå will think twice...)
