I am waiting for someone to explain to me how the Psion can manifest a costless Ice Assassin as a standard action.

I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure linked power works

2
This wouldn't help with early entries or whatever else, but how about...

Let's say a 10th level cleric uses divine power and then receives psychic reformation.

If he goes back all the way to level 1, could he select a feat that has a BAB requirement? I understand anything beyond BAB +7 will only work under divine power after all is said and done, but I don't think there's any other problem?

For some extra creamy gouda, in Eberron Campaign Setting, P.102, the rules for celestial channeling are outlined. A willing host who channels a willing celestial can, amongst others, cast the spells the celestial knows. So ice assassin of a solar, instant cleric 9s!

Magic of Eberron has the Dragon Prophesier feat, which lets you enter a trance that lasts a fair amount of time(3+1/2 your ranks of Knowledge Arcana) a number of times equal to half your HD+ your WIS bonus(round up). By itself it's pretty much useless,  since it's just a +1 to all saves, but with the Prophecy's Shaper, you can empower one spell per round for free while in a trance, though it can't be of the highest spell level you can cast.

So just get Maximize and lower it to +1 however you'd like(Easy Metamagic+Practical Metamagic); the per-round limit is a bit problematic for a real Mailman; and it's really easy to get some reasonably cheap damage going. For those times you don't want to go over the top as to cast three arcane fusions inside a spell matrix repeated twincasted or something.

Thrallherds are usually worth the lost manifester levels, but that's nigh-obvious.

I like metamind for practiced manifester ardents. Especially with dominant ideal, though it is definitely a (very) late bloomer.

Yup, that's the one. Definitely a fun find, according to how boring my finds usually are  :D

On Lost Empires of Faerun, there's this spel, (some guys) containment sphere.
Due to the way it's worded, it should be able to bypass regeneration altogether, unless I'm missin something

Also, the flavor drawing is a troll being hit by that, which, if nothing else, makes that arguably RAI too.

While that's probably true, it's still an option. Heck, if you're an Elan you can likely be permanently PAO'd without any of the "cast it twice for permanent" cheese. However it does come online late, and its only real saving grace is you keep full archivist spellcasting.

Accidentally breaking things... You could say that, yes. However since your spellcasting is tied to your form, you shouldn't be able to switch them at will, and dispel can be a big problem. If not for the high int, I don't see how this is any stronger than early entry into mystic theurge followed by some other theurge PrC. I guess at exactly level 17 it's better, but..?

If soulbow is unavailable, you might want to take a look into the incarnum blade prc from magic of incarnum, which might be helpful. If you want just the soulknife flavor, classes as metagame constructs etc, psychic warrior with the call weaponry acf from mind's eye is great.

Get polymorph any object as an archivist, the Reserves of Strength feat(either the liberal or the more conservative reading is fine for this) and turn into a black ethergaunt(Fiend Folio), for 17th level wizard casting and I think 34 int?

Came in late to the ritual of vitality discussion, but

I didn't do the math, but I feel like it's possible to get 'free' exp if you level drain yourself and permanently lose a level. Perhaps even doing that for each level you gained, while crafting and gaining those gp back?

Disciple of dispater and aptitude  weapons are your best bet I think

Perhaps another handy alternative(And I'd dare say more useful in quite a few situations) would be having subgroups and some tiering inside those groups.

As in, a 'spellcaster list', a 'melee list', 'ranged list' and so on. And a 'slot-filler list' with those feats that kinda go well with anything(Leadership being probably the strongest).
Heck, it wouldn't even need to be comprehensive, just a few on each list would help lots on build ideas and fleshing builds out too.
If I'm going a melee build I probably wouldn't need a list of over 40 feats(Unless, perhaps, I'm a human fighter 20  :lmao).
I think that would help immensely the new-ish people to our world of CO  :D

If we're going for this kind of op, it isn't far fetched that you'd persist unfettered heroism before. Anima mage can be entered very early on, but yeah, it's still a capstone.

15
Problem is it would be at most a gimmick - 3 feats, a standard action and a bluff check, which may  fail, to get effectivelly 3 ac or so. And its even race and class restricted! And you can only use it against favored enemies!

Also, you cant use it on party members, since the power  attack only works when attacking you.

Homebrew and House Rules (D&D) / Re: Idea for alternate Favored Enemy
« on: June 21, 2013, 05:26:06 PM »
This thread gave me an idea: How about, let's see... You gain a favored enemy ever other level(10 in total), and on each level you can chose between an extra enemy to be affected or a specific bonus from a list against those enemies? Maybe once at level 1 and again at level 10 you choose one of each, so you could either specialize against a couple select types or have more enemies but less advantages against them?

17
I like this 'fix'(I'd say it's more of a total remake, tough) very much, and it even helps a bit out of combat, as suddenly your whole party can bluff half as good as your bard and so on.

To be fair, there are so many awesome 'fighter fixes' around, one could play a campaign using only those as classes.

...That sounds pretty cool, tbh.

+4 to your spells' save DCs

Wait, what? How?

Dragon #346 has the named spell and greater named spell metamagic feats. While it needs truespeaking, it shouldn't be too hard for a full caster to bump it with a couple spells, and it works only on single-target spells too.But then, the fun begins.
+2 to the DCs and SP for the regular, another +2 for the greater. And it isn't restricted to a single school. Might work nicely with an enchanter or something, +4 to your DCs is nothing to scoff at.
Tough not so practical nor overpowering, it is meaningful, and can be a way to play a character who uses a bit of truenaming without really being a truenamer.
