Fiend whip:The balor can, as a fullround acion, summon/dismiss a masterwork whip apropriate to his size wich deals bludgeoding and slashing damage regardless of the target's Nat armor/armor. The Balor takes no penalty for attacking with the whip in one hand and another weapon in the other.

Does this confer extra off-hands  attacks per BAB like Improved Two Weapon Fighting?

Oslecamo's Improved Monster Classes / Re: Remmanon [finished]
« on: January 12, 2017, 10:26:18 AM »

Second it's Blood Infusion. Although not as OP as Summon Fiends, it is stupidly cheap and 2nd level Remmanons become gold quality minions to spam that on the party and other minions and anything else that catches your fancy. Also it's not very clear how it works since bloodlines usually cost exp to unlock as you go up. More glaring it's that there doesn't appear to be any hidden clause or penalty, just make the pact and each side goes to their merry life. The cheap cost could be offset by something like "you doom yourself to go to hell after death and can't be ressurected, plus take a penalty on 1d20 rolls against any actual Devils."

Moreso, this ability is better the less HD the Remmanon has, wich is kind of strange.

Oslecamo's Improved Monster Classes / Re: Sanctified Creature

- Must have a good alignment.
- Must be a creature with the evil subtype or a creature that is traditionally evil (such as any of the Chromatic Dragons).
- Cannot have any levels in the Fiendish or Half-Fiendish class.
- If the creature's alignment ever moves back to evil they lose all benefits of this class.

So... fullblood demons can be santified and halfbreed demons (less evil) can't

According to the base template, yes.

It can be changed if there's enough push too.

Why this is here in the first place? I'd understand if it forbid to take them latter but, as prerrequisite makes no sense to me

I think that our concept of rocket tag differs, theres an entire world between "1-round battles" and "declaring over and over"

If you are having one round battles, then you aren't having one round battles and you are lying.

"If you are A, then you aren't A" I don't follow you...

"Rocket Tag" is a good thing. The idea that everyone should have to grind against HP declaring attacks over and over again for the game to be fun is super fucking confusing, because I have never met a person who actually enjoyed that.

You can just build a rogue that bypasses pretty much all immunity to SA. Your probably need spellcraft and knowledges on someone else to tell you what you are facing and because the 3.5 knowledge rules are so very bad, you probably need to metagame stupid little things, but you can easily do it.

Luckily. But of course, that require some system enginery that the majority of actual players doesn't have, we optimizers are not that common.

7
In my personal views, the worst offenders are spells that contribute to Rocket Tag, that include:
- Save or Die
- Save or Lose
- Don't save, just die
- Action economy abusers
- Spells based on unbalanced defenses (Shivering Touch)

This also includes class features (I'm looking at you PF ¬¬). But of course, fixing rocket tag is imposible so i have to rely on gentleman agreement. And there are the problem of unbetable inmunity to entire characters (Death Ward is not a problem, inmunity to Sneak Attack is).
Death Ward is not a problem because a character that relies on them surely has other ways of contributing to the encounter anyway. Is probably a Necromancer type and Necromancers have a lot more to do than just death effects.
Inmunity to Sneak attack is like Inmunity to Magic in that probably would nullify a party member (Rogues and Blasters) that will be frustrated.

With the Monster Blooded/Hybrid feats it is possible to have 2 types.  (Or flesh golem).

What happens when you have an Outsider --> Construct --> Aberation -->  Dragon?  Are you effected by effects that target Outsiders?  Constructs?  Dragons?  Do you have construct immunities?  Do you have a CON score?

My instinct is just to let the player choose (either get the CON score or the immunities) for Construct/Undead, and in other cases let it stack (you count as all).  Your thoughts?

Thanks!
David

You don't lose your old racial abilities, but if your actual creature type would change, you may choose to keep your old one or you must lose it in favor of the new one.

Quoting tier system for classes
Quote
Option #1: Point Buy modifications. This is a quick and dirty fix that helps a bit. It's not perfect, but it's certainly something. Tier 1s get 24 point buy. Tier 2s get 28 point buy. Tier 3s get 32 point buy. Tier 4s get 36 point buy. Tier 5s get 40 point buy. Tier 6s get 44 point buy. Result? At low levels, their Tiers are nearly reversed, with CW Samurai having awesome stats while Wizards really are weak bookish types. By the high levels, the Tiers are back in order, but the difference is less pronounced through the mid levels. Obviously, you can adjust what the differences are, but this works pretty well, and most importantly it's extremely easy. The big downside is that you really can't allow much multiclassing or else it all goes out of whack. Other similar methods include rolling but letting lower Tiers get extra rerolls or bonuses after the roll, and giving free LA points to low tier classes (so, everyone Tier 3 and below gets 1 free LA, and everyone Tier 5 and below gets 2 free LA).

And now that i quoted it, free LA sounds good

You have two abilities named Arrogance, and their fluff seems to contradic each other.

"i'm a greater spirit of death...except i'm not an spirit, you know"

Indeed, he realises that he is not a greater spirit of death before realising he is an spirit.

  • Buus aren't very smart, wise, or good looking (penalties to Int, Wis, Cha)

Super Bu is pretty smart despite seeming a brute, quoting TV Tropes:
Quote
Bond Villain Stupidity: Averted on every level. Super Buu is very pragmatic in battle and will not hesitate to kill, eat, absorb anyone who gets in his way. The worst thing about it is that he does it with a great amount of surprise. No evil laughing, taunting or mocking. Just straight up death. The only instances he'll every draw out a battle is to discover the weakness of his opponents. When he does find out their weaknesses, he will exploit them to devastating effect. Whether it's flaws in power or personality traits of the opponent.

Although, he was caught somewhat flat-footed when Gotenks revealed he could go Super Saiyan 3 and he was almost killed if the fusion did not break apart when it did. Not to mention, he only escaped from the Time Chamber because he threw a temper tantrum, otherwise he would have been trapped in there forever.

Quote
The Chessmaster: No, he seriously was. Super Buu Out-Gambitted everyone in the Majin Buu Arc. And it wasn't just a basic case of Super Buu out smarting them or getting lucky, he covertly came up several plans to become the strongest in the universe and with every plan he came up with, he thought of several back up plans as well. He also manipulated many of the heroes into making himself seem like less of a threat and when the opportunity presented itself from the heroes being arrogant, he would not only take advantage of it but also made sure that there were some contingency plans if things were to go against him. And it worked like a charm, because he technically never loses a battle. And any battle that it seems like he is losing, he's losing on purpose because it's all a part of his plan. It took the Story-Breaker Power of Vegetto just to slow him down. Although in the case of Vegetto, he purposely prolong the battle so he could be absorbed and rescue the others taken by Buu. Otherwise, he would had killed Buu easily.

Quote
Dangerously Genre Savvy: Super Buu's surprisingly high intellect and cunning caught a lot of people off-guard in the Buu Arc. Super Buu demanded seeing the "Strong Fighter"/Gotenks (Goten and Trunks fused together) he was promised by Goku, in an effort to buy more time Piccolo suggests that Buu amuse himself by terrorizing the people of Earth, knowing they can be revived with the Dragon Balls. Despite Majin Buu previous rampage there were still billions of humans left on earth so Piccolo thought that with that many humans left it would take Super Buu at least a few hours to fly across the world and terrorize every single one of them. Super Buu instead kills every single human, with the exceptation of Mr Satan, Tien, Chiaotzu and all those present on Kami's Lookout in only two minutes and never left Kami's Lookout while doing it. All of humanity had essentially become a sacrificial lamb for the sake of giving Goten and Trunks just two more of minutes of time to train. It's safe to say that Piccolo's plan of trying to outsmart Super Buu to gain more time backfired on him tremendously.

In stark contrast to other major DBZ villains such as Vegeta, Cell and Freeza, Super Buu goes out of his way to prevent his enemies from getting stronger, even when he's sure their boost won't be enough, just to not take chances. He prefers to just straight up kill them. He does this when Gohan and Goku attempt to fuse, and later when Goku and Vegeta attempt the same.
His reaction when Gohan and Goku try to fuse?

Buutenks: Even if you fuse, you'll be no match for me... but why take the chance? I'll kill you both now!

Quote
Manipulative Bastard: Super Buu's surprisingly high intellect and cunning caught a lot of people off-guard in the Buu Arc as he ran rings around the Z-Fighters, making himself look much stupider than he truly was to put the heroes in false sense of security and then strike when they weren't expecting it. It got to the point where he was acting like the The Chessmaster and was playing the Z-Fighters like pawns .

Quote
Out-Gambitted

Super Buu out-gambit everyone to the point he could be the trope image. He out-smarted Piccolo by killing everyone in the planet when Piccolo suggested he amuse himself with the survivors to buy more time so Trunks and Goten could train. He used Gotenks' arrogance against him and absorbed him along with Piccolo to create the nearly invincible Super Fusion Buu that wrecked Gohan. When Goku showed up, he made sure they couldn't fuse and when his time ran out with Gotenks, he simply absorbed Gohan, becoming even more powerful. His only real failure was not killing Goku and instead humor him to merge with someone, the only people left were Denda and Mr. Satan. Then again, how could even he predict Vegeta would come back since he died earlier against the much weaker Fat Buu.

Quote
Xanatos Speed Chess: Super Buu is very good at doing this, despite being a mere thug in personality. He noticed Gohan's growing power, so he fought against Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks and tested the limits of his strength and his weaknesses (e.g. fusion limit). After briefly fighting Gohan and finding himself overwhelmed, he goes through an intentional Super Power Meltdown, knowing he will regenerate and buys time (and getting Goten and Trunks to recuperate, to fuse again). When he returns he goads Goten and Trunks into fusing again at full power and absorbs Gotenks and Piccolo into his being, deciding 30 minutes is more than enough to handle Gohan (he was right). Goku arrives and the fusion breaks down. Goku says Gohan alone is strong enough to defeat Buu, but then Buu reveals that he planned for this eventuality as well, and had a piece of himself ready to absorb Gohan the whole time, who he goaded into standing still until it was too late. Interestingly, the only character this didn't work on is Vegito, who was too strong, too wily, and had plans of his own, as he later found out...

As you can see, that point is false.

Quote
  • Absorbing beings of a polar opposite alignment will make the Buu weak (they lose HD/abilities)

Gohan, Gotenks and South Kaio Shin made him stronger (yes, South Kaio Sin making him weaker was a translation mistake, the only one who makes him weaker is the supreme kaio shin, the most common theory is that he somehow sealed part of the power of Majin Boo).  False again.

Quote
  • Food is not really a necessity, more like a drug addiction that can be temporarily solved with a "quick fix."  Any being polymorphed into food only solves the hunger and doesn't count as absorption.

Evil Bu absorbed Good Bu this way. False again.

Yeah I wasnt sure if I should post it, but I did see a monster or two with Maneuver Progression so I went ahead and posted it.

I can probably get some ACFs up once I get some free time. Shouldnt be too difficult.

Warblade and maneuvers were in the wotc website and that kind fo things were considered "srd" in this policy because you could easily access to them.

http://brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?topic=1109.0

But, i don't know if now that the web enchantments are down that policy makes sense.

Vitriolic Arcana appears twice on the table, it doesn't appear in the text.

The ability increase table doesn't show the increases at 4th, 12th and 6th level. Also shows an increase at level 9 that is not in the main table.

So I get the spells known of a Sorcerer X (Where X is the sum of my succubus and sorcerer levels), minus the spells known and spells per day of a sorcerer Y (Where Y is my succubus level)?

Yep
