So if you really want to get a use out of an aura, Dilate aura from Fiendish Codex 2 is pretty sweet.

Dilate Aura

Though, I don't know of anything that this would be a must have for. But is is quite nifty.

Edit: Do you guys think its worded for one use of the feat per encounter, or one use of the feat per aura, per encounter?

From the wording I imagine its one per encounter, as it doesn't specify it only applies to a particular aura in question.  I don't think it's terribly broken to have it apply to all auras you have either.  The official answer is probably "doesn't say" though.

Technically is says "Aura", not "Fear Aura".

Edit - Research!
pg79 Hellbred Paladin lists the Aura of Courage as an Aura.
pg89 Hellbreaker example lists Telepathic Static as an Aura.
pg98 Soulguard example lists "strong good, law" as an Aura.
pg120 Kalabon entry lists stench as an Aura.
pg124 Malebranche entry lists fear (yep as in "fear aura") as an Aura.
pg127 Nupperibo entry lists fear as an Aura.
pg132 Pain Devil entry lists torment as an Aura.

Going back to the DMGII, first usage of the new Creature List style.
Quote from: 173
Aura: Occasionally, a creature has a special ability that takes effect anytime another creature comes within a certain distance of it. Such abilities, such as a blackguard’s aura of despair or a devil’s fear aura, are detailed here.
I countermand my own original point, and actually empower the potential Abilities that Feat can apply to. Like Mindsight.

Killing a Merchurion allows you to change non-metal weapons into silver. Fully silver arrows? Yup

That is just... Bonkers... potentially far above what I thought the feat was capable of.  :o

SorO you just made my evening. I will have to ponder the evidence you just brought up.  :plotting

This would apply to things like Byshek and Deep Crystal, yes?

If there were some horrible abomination that had both Byshek DR and Silver DR, this would overcome it, I suppose.

Edit:  Where does it say it must be non-metal?

Quote
When a merchurion is slain, it collapses to a pool of silver liquid that evaporates harmlessly after 24 hours. Any weapon dipped into this pool undergoes a permanent change, becoming silvered and striking as a magic weapon (if not already magic) for the purpose of overcoming damage reduction.

Where is the limit on being metal? Wooden weapons are still weapons. Since these weapons can be dipping in the liquid, they transform into silver.

edited since the other part doesn't matter, since its very obvious.

Sorry, the way you phrased it could be read as that the ability could only be applied to non-metal weapons.  I now see you were just pointing out that it COULD be applied to non-metallic weapons (whereas normally only metallic weapons can gain the property.)

No worries, I guess I was referring more that this is one of only a few ways to change non-metal to metal.

could you imagine trying to figure out how a silver sling would work? :twitch

Next up we're going to make Robocop as a warforged Justicar or something.  Or find a class from D20 Future and use that.

That's a cool idea, make a Robocop.

maybe use the Templar from Dark Sun as the class, give the warforged a dart thruster that shoots sling explosive bullets?

Monks unarmed strikes are weapons.   So silver monk cop.  Just make sure to keep Deflect Arrows for that DMG coming at your head.

It's also like a free Silver Tracery feat (RoE) for Warforged.

More on Dilate Aura ... the word "encounter" has no official definition (iirc).
JaronK and I went around on it a little.
T.O. and totally borkt is to notice that a single skill check can be an "encounter".
So go Dilate Dilate Dilate Aura, and Dilate some more, with in-combat skill checks.
I might say obviously that this was proto-4e wording, and they weren't specific enough.

Widen Supernatural Ability feat might not be worded exactly right
to prevent using it on an Aura that's also (su).  I think it works.

There's a Shield Mod (hazy) that doubles an Aura range.
Might be in Heroes of Battle or Forge of War --- idk.

And bringing up the rear as usual, the Divine Mind has a +5' to Aura feat.
Go go Divine Minds !!
 :P
Oops, did I just write all that's necessary for a Divine Mind Handbook?

Encounter is frequently "assumed" to be 1/minute thanks to the wording on Skill Tricks, IIRC?

So, +10 Charisma, and you're sorted.
