Actually, the update says that humans don't have to.

So, I was just checking the OA update for something... and apparently they updated the Eunuch Warlock to a 9/10 casting class.

Why was I not informed of this?

EDIT: Some of the Ancestor feats are pretty nice, too.

Cool Head: Not only does it downgrade any fear effect people try to use on you by a step, but you get a second save against any effect that would compel you to take a violent action.
Great Diplomat: +2 Dexterity, a Cohort at 6th level, and a +2 bonus to your Leadership score.
Kami's Intuition: +2 to Sense Motive, use any Knowledge skill untrained, and you can use your Wisdom in place of Intelligence for Knowledge checks. Hey, why should Dwarves get all the fun?
Luck of Heroes: +1 Luck bonus to all saves and a +1 Luck bonus to AC. That's not bad if you just need the numbers bump.
Saddleback: Hey, ever wanted the ability to always take 10 on Ride checks and the ability to use Mounted Combat against effects that force a Reflex save? Then this feat is for you!
Silver Tongue: Everyone already knows about this one; this is the one that boosts the flexibility of Diplomacy immensely.
Spellcaster Support: It's Aid Another! Except it gives a +1 bonus to CL instead of a bonus to a roll, and prevents people you threaten from making attacks of opportunity due to that spell being cast. I will find a way to optimize this feat to a crazy degree, just you wait.
Strength of the Charger: Add your supermount's Con modifier to your Fortitude saves and get bonus HP equal to its Con modifier. Depending on the mount...
Tireless: One of the few ways to go NOPE to Fatigue. Exhaustion is for tools.
Warrior Shugenja: If you fail the check to cast Defensively, you can choose to not cast the spell in the first place. You lose the action, but not the spell. I can see this being useful for Duskblades, especially.

So... yeah. Spellcaster Support is nasty.
Is that the Dragon Magazine update? dndtools shows Spellcaster Support as giving +2 DC, instead of +1 CL.

Yes, it's the Dragon Mag 318 update.

And Amechra's right, humans don't have to take an ancestor feat in the update.

Updated Eunuch Warlock has been discussed before, the best build I've seen was a Gnome Illusionist 3/Master Specialist 4/Shadowcraft Mage 5/Eunuch Warlock 8 for Heightened, Silent, Double Extended, Maximised Shadow Miracles.

Niiiiiice.

I went the other way with a Tier 4 -ish (!)
R.A.I. Erudite StP + a Discipline 11 / old Eunuch Warlock 10
The idea was to stop at level 6s or 7s, and
not completely dominate the mundanes.

Well, if you're intentionally gimping yourself, you can always slap this on a mystic ranger, take willing deformity (obese) and roleplay a hilarious character.

Would you take Favored Enemy (Heroes Entering The Palace Through The Harem)? It is surprisingly applicable (like having a Speciality in Goddamn Spiders when playing Exalted.)

Also, I have to bring up the Bloodclaw Master PrC, if only because it is the only means of getting a third Shifter trait (at least for Prerequisite purposes) that I can think of off the top of my head.

9th level Moonspeaker also grants the ability to have a third Shifter trait, and in fact does it more directly since it actually grants the Extra Shifter Trait feat even if it's already been taken.

Then you can get 4 Shifter traits! Ultimate power etc.

Weretouched Master gets an unofficial version of Extra Shifter Trait as a class feature at 1st level, with or without its errata.

Quote
Weretouched I (Su): At 1st level, a weretouched master chooses one animal type that represents his lycanthrope heritage: bear, boar, rat, tiger, wolf, or wolverine. When shifting, his appearance changes to strongly resemble a hybrid lycanthrope of the chosen type: His facial features become more bestial, fur sprouts on his body, and he grows a short tail. In addition, he gains one of the following extra benefits each time he shifts, depending on his lycanthrope ancestor.

All of the selections follow the same sort of pattern as a Shifter trait.

I don't know if this should go here, but...

Dungeon #104 has a bunch of deity-specific feats that are pretty great.

Invoke The Cup And Talisman: 2/day, dip your Holy Symbol into a cup of holy water and spend a Turn Undead attempt as a full-round action; doing so gives you a potion of Cure Moderate Wounds, Lesser Restoration, Delay Poison, or Remove Disease, which last for an hour. Taking it multiple times gives you two extra daily uses.

Sacred Steed: +1 to your effective Paladin level when determining your Special Mount, plus you can call it one more time each day. The bonus is not capped in any way.

Indomitable Loyalty: Whenever you succeed on a save against an Enchantment spell or SLA, you can spend one Turn Attempt to deal 1d4+1 Wisdom damage to the caster.

Mantle of Freedom: +Cha to Grapple Checks, Escape Artist, and Strength checks to break chains and bonds. Plus, you get a +2 Sacred bonus to a bunch of different types of save, but seriously, that's not what you're taking this feat for.

Prestige class requirement: ability to grant allies a bonus on attack rolls, saves, or checks as an extraordinary ability.
Does Aid Another count?

That belongs in the Q&A or even the simple question thread, but the answer is no. Skills are not extraordinary abilities and neither is Aid Other's option for them.

Looking through some old Dragon content, I found the Illuminated Monk alternate class features in Dragon 340. Here's the gist:

Illuminated Monk: d6 HD
- L1: Gain Skill Focus (any) instead of the usual bonus Monk feat.
- L2: Gain Investigator or Negotiator instead of the usual bonus Monk feat.
- L6: Meditative Focus (Ex): Gain Skill Mastery with the skill of your choice, which you can change once per day by meditating for 15 minutes. You can always Take 10 with this skill, even under duress.

The Level 2 swap is crap, but Meditative Focus (Use Magic Device) seems like it could be solid.

In a Gestalt environment, Meditative Focus (Spellcraft) would combo nicely with Incantatrix.
