My reading comprehension for the first line was terrible and I read it as "yesterday I visited my "new" aunt and her stillborn kid" and thought this was absolutely in the wrong thread. But then read the rest and was relieved
In this thread: Kuroimaken saves the life of an unborn child.

Apparently, the AFI (Amniotic Fluid Index) of the little one's mom went from 3 to 13 between last Sunday and, well, today. Apparently that's good enough that she doesn't need to remain in the obstetric ward anymore, as she's come to stay with us for the time being. Doctors can't seem to explain exactly how it happened, although they noted it's quite remarkable, speed-wise.

So, yeah. Another freaky coincidence to jot down on my life.  :p

I got a job today!  Gainfully employed as a specialist social worker in autism/pervasive development disorders.  :D

My roommate just got her dream job, she's going to teach one-on-one sewing classes for a high end sewing supply store for I think around $10/hr.

Good for her as it is her dream job. But holy shit, I just realised that $10/hour is only 3p/hour more than the UK national minimum wage.  Which is, well, pretty much not enough to live on (you can claim housing benefit ans working tax credit on that much).  How much better is that as a living wage in the states?

Radio the minimum wage in the US (at least where i am ) is 7.75 an hour...

It's not meant to be a living wage.  The living wage concept has never caught on here because corporations and politicos crush it the moment it rears it's head.

I finally fixed my laptop! I installed a new screen, replaced Windows 7, and installed all of the drivers! Now I can finally stop using my ex-girlfriend's mom's loaner laptop that chugs along with Windows XP! Oh, sweet processing speed!

Puerto Rico.  And it's "best" because it's the cheapest to live there.
