Wounded and tired, a black Dragonborn limps from behind a boulder to the North.  As he collapses to his haunches he produces a thick ceramic jar, "I believe your friend needs this more than I..."  He lays the healing potion on the ground beside Atanos.  "It is only ever a *true* battle when some of the blood you are wearing is your own."

Dunor eyes the Dragonborn warily as picks the jar up. "Yes, though I always try to end my battles wearing more of my enemies' blood than my own! Thank you for this. I'm not sure what you're doing here or who you are, but your timing is fortunate and our friend will benefit greatly from your gift."

Opening the jar, Dunor administers the potion to Atanos. He turns to look back at the stranger and asks,

"What has brought you here, friend?"

Shifting to a seated position and chiding himself for being in pain "The actions of one I knew as a friend, but no more.  He is Githzerai and now also a traitor.  There was a time we travelled the Planes together.  At a time that I was without weapon he turned on me and chose then to sell me.  I do not know to whom I was sold but I was able to escape during an ambush and fled with this pack I was able to grab in the confusion.". Gamesh spits at the thought of fleeing, his acidic saliva quickly dissolving the rock face it splattered across.

Leaning against a rock wall "I am known as Gamesh."(Gah-mesh)  "I know that I am not from *this* place.  The Betrayer and I traveled far through the realms but since my captor walked us into this plane I have felt the Far Realm more closely than I have ever since I awoke."  He begins to shuffle through his stolen pack.  Baring his long teeth he growls "These provisions are worthless!"

Calming himself "I heard your friend cry out."  nodding over his shoulder at where Everyn's remains lie  "Had I a weapon and not been at such a great distance I would have come to his aid.  My energy was spent during the ambush where I won my freedom and my weapon was among those that held me captive.  Once I saw this one struck down - motioning toward Atanos - I knew it a better choice to approach the group rather than the fallen."

Søffå reaches into his pack, removing a waterskin and some of his more choice provisions.  Holding these out, he approaches the stranger.  "Gamesh, well met.  I am Søffå.  Here, take these - You may find them more to your liking."

Dunor simply observes the newcomer. Talking isn't really his strong-suit.

You have been traveling for most of the day. With the summer daylight hours waning, and the fatigue of the days events, it may be good to rest for the evening. Though the heat has not let up yet a slight breeze has picked up and it is not hard to find a cooler, low spot to set up camp.

The halfling sits down, exhausted, and begins to tend to his wounds. He makes a weak flourish and a halfhearted attempt at a smile.
"Well met Gamesh, my name is Thespias Munroe, but by all means, call me Theo. We're your average group of charming misfits, roaming the lands trying to make a difference." He winces as he tries to relax, the adrenaline leaving his system, replacing it with pain.
"Risky business though, I would have lost another friend if you hadn't showed up. Thank you."

Thank you Tymora

Snarling a bit "Among those that ambushed my captor and his band were many goblins and among the possessions I was forced to leave behind were not only my weapons but also my pack.  There is something very important that I must retrieve."  Crossing his legs and preparing to meditate, a final flash of anger crosses his onyx features.  "I carry a piece of the Betrayer that I must not lose."  Visibly calming and exhaling deeply, Gamesh allows himself to slip away, a pale green glow wavers around him as he slides into a deep meditation.

Søffå walks off towards the remains of Everyn; he collects the remnants of his belongings (The pack being in surprisingly good condition) as well as his friends' dagger.  He removes the coin pouch from the body, and after a moment of contemplation,  throws this as well into the pack.

Søffå returns and tosses the pack towards the stranger.  "Here - May these take better care of you than their former owner.  I only ask that you pay your respect in helping us bury the fallen."

With that, Søffå returns to the opening, and using what means he can find begins to fill in the hole, meaning to bury Everyn where he lay.

Gamesh blinks, fully conscious and well rested, he stands, stretching to his full height, "I will put these to good use."  He affixes Everyns pack to his belt, sheathes the dagger, and moves to help fill in the hole.

It is an arduous task of collapsing the hole enough to cover Everyn's body but eventually he is only mostly covered by the fallen dirt so a small cairn of stones is needed to complete the task to keep animals at bay.

After the respects are paid, the rest of the evening is fairly quite. Some exchange stories of past exploits and you learn a bit more about each others origins around, considering the hot weather, a very small and low campfire.

You find Kruthik meat to be palatable, if a bit bitter in taste after being charred thoroughly by fire with the hatchlings flesh being tender and less acidic. With a belly full of meat, most of you bed down for the evening leaving one or two to watch every few hours.

The night is uneventful and besides the heat, was very restful. Atanos doesn't even look like he was hovering on deaths door just yesterday, magical healing having sped his recovery.

The Halfling slowly gets up as he wakes up. Spending a few moments to get his braids and dreadlocks all in place after his tossing and turning, he decides to put the troubling dreams caused by the recent deaths away and focus on the present. With as much positivity he can muster, trying to keep the spirits high in the group, he speaks as soon as notice that everyone is awake.

"So, good morning to you all. As I am not the woodcraftiest-" Theo makes an over-emphazied slow wink to accentuate the pun "-Halfling there was, do any of you know how far we've come and how long it'll take us to get to our destination? Not that I am bored of the travels so far, I would in fact not mind a bit of dull, empty road given yesterday."
