Dunor and Galadren ascend the wrought iron stair with barely a ghostly whisper of their feet on the metal. Dunor readies a sunrod to surprise whomever is at the top. As they ascend the two here some ragged breathing and a slight tink of a chain.

Disappearing into the darkness on the landing, the human lobs his quickly activated light into the deeper gloom dissipating it with the rod's bright flash. "Druuc'd mech an!" a gruff but feminine voice rises up as both sets of eyes adjust to the suddenly bright light. Another quickly responds, "Nuunr or ghuur, Neelg!" harshly.

The light reveals two mostly naked forms chained to the wall on soiled and stained bed rolls. One a goblin woman and the other a hobgoblin woman. Their mistreatment is evident but the hobgoblin stares at both intruders defiantly while the goblin cowers.

Hearing the voices come down the stairs, Tanthalus quietly calls up "Who have you found?"

No one immediately responds from up above to Tanthalus' soft questioning from below.

Deciding that whatever is up there isn't going to start a fight, Tanthalus slowly makes his way up the stairs.

Tanthalus ascends the spiral stair. Upon reaching the landing above, his eyes land on the two goblinoid women chained to the wall before Dunor and Galadren.

Dunor seems conflicted. On the one hand, these are women who have clearly been abused, and are thus in need of rescuing. On the other, a deep-seated need for revenge against all goblins has taken root in the northerner. Even now he could see where his blade was meant to plunge into them, to end their misery and collect payback for his fallen friends.

He remains silent while he contemplates what to do.

Ascending the stairs, Thespias comes face to face with the captives. Having no love for any goblinoids given the past few days, the halfling keeps it short and blunt. He speaks with a blunt voice:
"duun agaan o ac dec tuuch daan shagaan akuur o?"

The goblin scrambles forward toward Thespias' feet groveling as she comes to the length of the chain, "Taanch ghaan! Haaraan! Kaar ghaan or! Daan duugogaan ghaan!".

"Luunc'd dach duun daal o tokhel duugaan. Sinruth dech khraagaar kaar o huun dhaan!" the other captive hisses at the groveler trying to kick her away.

"Lec khralkaan an Neelg. Kaar ghaan or. A dac duun haar or or maagaan." the goblin frantically tries to paw at Theo's feet.

Reaching the top of the stairs, Tanthalus looks at the chained captives in shock.  "Oh these poor creatures, we should help them."

"They've been chained up here and tortured. Someone named Sinruth is in charge. While I don't care for goblinoids, I don't want to turn a blind eye to this situation. I say we kill Sinruth, rescue the rest and let these two free, but after that they're on their own."
I know a better man would see to their safety after, but I am not that man.

Turning back to the goblin at his feet, he speaks with a slightly more gentle tone.

"O'k rhaan akaan duun huun tuuc."

Facing the hobgoblin, he continues, but with a sterner tone.

"O tor ac der dar khralkaan-shal'dec. Taan'k huun dhaan, daan'k makaan Sinruth. Ar o dac duun haar or or maagaan, o ghec or duukuun. Duuc ar o dec daan shac'd mech Sintruth, o'kaan daal'duulkaan duun tuul shakaal ac. Dar't ar huuc duun rhaan?

Tanthalus frowns.  "We can't leave these people chained up like this."

Seeing as no one objects to what he said, Tanthalus looks for a way to unchain the women.

Each wears a lose iron collar around the neck that has a lock on it. The chains each run from the collar through its own ring jammed into the rock of the wall and ends in another lock at one of several other rings. With enough strength it could yanked from the wall, the locks could be picked, or there may be keys on one of the fallen downstairs to release them.

Hearing no protests from this companions, the halfing starts to fiddle with the collars, trying to unlock them.

Thespias works on the lock with nimble fingers and his small dagger and the collar soon falls free of the goblin's neck. Tears stream down the her face as she thanks you in her gruff language.

Tanthalus smiles in approval, happy to see her free.
