Less on guard than before, Isaac follows Kara. "Last bit of exploration, then let's get out of this creepy place..."

Nora'Luuu gave the new blade a few experimental swipes at the air. It felt nothing at all like his other blades, and while he'd miss their weight, he'd adapt. Father taught him that much. Every blade, every rock, every stick had a warrior within it, and all it wanted was the chance to know battle just once more.

Though, seeing Isaac in the state he was in was unacceptable, and the weasel gave him a nudge with an elbow, then motioned with his hands slightly upward.

Moving past the slowly-thawing ice-wall, you enter the tunnel littered with the ancient remains of long-dead centipedes.  The air is damp, cold, and eerily quiet...

Quickly the passage narrows to its usual width, and you move along slowly and warily (except possibly for Isaac).  Suddenly the usually surefooted Kara trips over a rock and presses a hand to the wall to steady herself -- and the wall shifts, moving inward slightly and revealing a tiny sliver of a secret area.

Kara blinks, a bit surprised. Then sees the new passage. "Jinkies."
Hmm.

Noral'Luuu tilts his head in that adorable fashion that animals do when they have no idea what kind of crazy the folks around them are on.

(click to show/hide)

Then the weasel tilts his head around to peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeer into the new passage.

It seems the new area is more of a tiny chamber than a passage.  On the stone floor lie the skeletal remains of at least two large-ish creatures, covered with the dust of countless years.  ((Knowledge: Dungeoneering to ID the remains.))

The wall has been carved into an ornate design (reminiscent of the runic language everywhere else, but without meaning), which incorporates several hooks.  Hanging on one of the hooks is a dust-covered forest-green cloak of excellent make, with gold embroidery around the edges.

"What do you make of that?" Kara says, walking up to the item and yoinking it off the hook. She shows it to anyone interested.
Hmm.

Isaac moves quickly to admire and examine it. "You should have been more careful; there has to be a reason why it is the sole visible item in a room full of runes..." He gave Kana a playful smile before going straight back to examining the fabric.

((Skeletons not magical -- and the "but without meaning" should tell you that the runes were entirely decorative ;)

However, the cloak (and the knife and the stick) are all magical.))

Nora'Luuu was slightly less concerned with the cloak as he was about the two aged remains. Unlike anything he had ever seen, but they seem compelled to remain, rather then escape for food or safety. Was it the creatures being controlled, or the stone calling for guardians... or the dagger...

His grip on his knife grew a bit tighter. Something was bugging him...

Isaac notes the tone, despite not speaking the language of their new friend. One hand stroked the cloak while the other loosened the short sword in it's scabbard. He turned suddenly towards Nora'Luuu, asking, "You seem troubled. What do you see that we don't?"

Kara translates Isaac's words into Elven for Nora'Luuu.
Hmm.

Nora'Luuu gave Kara a bit of an appreciative smirk. It was good that some of them weren't shackled to the Man Speak.

He started, motioning to the remains of the cloakers on the ground. Then he motioned... essentially, all around.

"He's worried about the number of creatures in this place. He wonders what draws them here and makes them violent. If they killed these...whatever they are." she says.

"Dead Cloakers... in a cloak room? That's either ironic or an effective hunting strategy."

She just shrugs at Nora'Luuu, not knowing the answer. In response to Sorrel's proclamation she takes a closer look at the remains.

"So these are 'Cloakers' huh?"
Hmm.

"Whatever they are, they weren't as strong as me, and that's why they died. Anyhow, let's go!" said cheerfully Snowy as she walked out the room, grinning.

As you poke through the remains, they crumble to dust.  Whatever danger the creatures would have provided has long since past -- probably centuries ago.
