Galadren finds nothing of note among the decaying remains. Sliding up to the door, none of the dead rise to avenge the disturbance of their resting places. His keen elven ears pick up nothing beyond the door.

Motioning the group forward to join him, he points at the door.

Dunor moves up, still cautious, to open the door. "I hope that with the undead upstairs gone, that it means we shall be free of their influence while searching the rest of this place. I will be very upset if that is not true."

Watching Galadren and Dunor both cross the floor without any undead rising to attack, Shandien looks glowers at Tulugaq "Well now, that was a little underwhelming. C'mon" he waves everyone on to catch up to those opening the door.

Dunor puts his hand to the sliding latch. As with the other doors there does not appear to be any obvious traps and the sliding bolt latch is not locked in any way. Once thrown, both doors push inward with ease. Beyond is another hall, in the light shed by the warlock's sunrod you can see the path ends in a stairway down to the left.

You immediately become aware of the rooms temperature. It has gotten hotter since opening the door and after a second more, far more dangerous. Two fiery creatures, almost insect like save for the molten heat coming off each, erupt into the center of the room in a cloud of ash and the smell of brimstone. Each clacks its heated claws as they move toward the group aggressively.

Galadren said with a smirk, using one hand to half-slap, half-push Dunor forward while his other hand readied his crossbow for another battle.
Hopefully the bolts would be able to penetrate these things shells . . . and cracking them open wouldn't spill magma everywhere!

Dunor grumbled, disliking the added danger of magma on top of giant-bug attacks.

He pushed through the party to interpose himself between them and the creatures, whirling his double-ended sword in an intimidating display meant to drive the creatures back.

The bugs repel away from the spinning blades with several cuts across each carapace oozing molten gore.

Shandien catches on to the tactic and sweeps in, his blade trailing lightning that bursts out toward both fiery creatures.

Deciding that he had perhaps played it a little too safe during their last fight, given that he had come out of it without a scratch, Galadren opts for a more reckless approach this time.  As he circles around the fire-crab-bug-things, Galadren focuses on the southern one's glowing hot carapace, looking for seams.
Seeming to find one, Galadren rushes in close - in fact, briefly hopping up on top of the creature, before leveling his crossbow downward and firing it at the seam where the creature's upper back connects with its head - effectively where the top of the spinal column would be on a humanoid creature.
Wincing at the extreme heat wafting up at its legs and starting to burn through the protection of his boots, Galadren summersaults off, rolling and tumbling around behind the creatures to take up position behind the other one, snapping a fresh bolt into his crossbow as he comes back up to his now-unpleasantly-warm feet.

Tulugaq's whispered curse is mentally heard by one of the bugs. As it makes eye contact with the Warlock, he asserts his pact bolstered will over it, filling it's elemental mind with visions of utter doom. The curses power expands to the other creature.

As Galadren moves in and clicks off his crossbow, a claw lashes out from the creature briefly clamping around the elf's slender middle rending and burning away leather and flesh. Managing to extricate himself before his is pinched in half by the creature and dances away to the wall.

Both creatures click toward Dunor. One opens it's mandibles wide, revealing an orange hot glow deep inside and it erupts forth into a large glob of lava.

With everyone's focus on the battle ahead no one sees the hulking brute slip in behind from the hall. Quickly the beast tosses a looped rope around the distracted Tanthalus and tightening the garrote, brings the elf close and up to it's chest. The clerics legs flop weirdly and he chokes for breathe, the bugbears hot breath on the back of his neck.
