Dunor slips his blade into a seam in the rock like plates on the fiery bug, careful to pull the blade free quickly before it can heat too much. Then dances free of the lava spill.

Shandien whirls away from the molten claws and slips between his companions, calling upon his swordmage training the runic aegis floats about the bugbear enemy. The genasi attacks but fearing to hit Tanthlus pulls his strike and it hits nothing but the air next to the one strangling his friend.

Tanthalus struggles to get free of the bugbear and fails.  He quickly heals Galadren before turning his attentions to his own fight and lashes out at his strangler.

As the choked elf begins the prayer to bring forth the divine lance the bugbear lands several knees to his kidneys to try to prevent it. Tanthalus keeps his concentration though and completes the verse and holy light lances down and burns the bugbear.

Thespias tries to get a bit of distance to the bugbear, knowing that getting caught up in close quarters with it is not in his favour. Focusing on the bugs ahead, Thespias brings down a whirlwind on them, trying to help Dunor while still keeping the Bugbear in his line of sight.

Galadren grunts as he feels the painful wound on his stomach seal closed through Tanthalus' magic - there's not even really a scar left behind!
That had been a reckless move after all - one that Galadren had a feeling was the sort of high-risk maneuver that his previous self had done a lot . . . until it led to his demise most likely.  He'd have to be more careful this time around.

But Tanthalus' aid had cost him - that bugbear was really tightening the cord around his neck, and in a few moments he might have a strong enough grip to break the cleric's neck.  Galadren couldn't let that happen!

Rushing forward, Galadren thought back to yesterday, when he had pushed the spidermen back through sheer force of will.  He tried to summon up that same power now as he got close to the struggling elf and bugbear.  To Galadren's surprise, it worked!

A thunderous burst of wind leapt out from the elf's outstretched hand, flowing harmlessly around Tanthalus to buffet the bugbear.  The massive goblinoid tried to keep its grip, but its hold on one of the garrot's handles suddenly slipped, and the bugbear was flung backwards into the hallway.  The wind faded before it could bowl the bugbear over, but before it could fully recover Galadren pulled up his crossbow and shot at its right knee, shifting up into where it had been to interpose himself between Tanthalus and the bugbear.

"He's with me!"

Galadren growled in Common, not bothering with trying to remember the words in Goblin this time.

The warlock's gaze fails to break through to the bugbear's mind.

Galadrens wind of spirits pushes the enemy away from his friend. The crossbow quarrel sticks in the bugbears hide armor taking the brunt of the blow and serving only to poke him slightly in the leg with each step, but even at the slowed pace, he steps right back in trying to lash the cord about Shandien's neck. The swordmage ducks at t he last moment avoiding it.

Dunor wastes no time in shifting his focus to the Bugbear. He whips around, using the distraction of his allies to jab his blade into a sensitive weak point of his foe's armor.

"You think you can get the drop on us? We took out the undead abomination upstairs, and countless more goblins through these ruins. You are nothing."

With his words and heavy hit, Dunor tries to create an opening for one of his nearby allies to sneak in an attack... hopefully, a fatal one.

Shaking uncontrollably as lightning surges through the Bugbear's body, it collapses to the ground with a quarrel sticking out of it's back. The spams continue even after death for a short time.

Without spending the time to search the Hobgoblin over, Dunor carries his weapon at ready, moving as quietly as possible toward the source of the voice.

Surely, this way another of the missing villagers, but it never hurt to be careful. He motioned for the group to follow.

Galadren grins at the voice shouting up at them.  Still feeling a bit reckless due to the adrenaline from the fight, Galadren shouts down at the man.

"Fraid not!  Hope none of them owed you any money!"

Confident that they had already killed the man's guards, Galadren moves with the group headed down the stairway, bringing the sunrod and its light with him.
