Lightning arcs over the wererat's shoulder narrowly missing and slams into the wall. Dunors attacks are fended off by the wererat's short sword parries.

Stepping to its side along the wall, the wererat pumps its arm furiously at Shandien putting the swordmage on the defensive under its assault but still taking a couple scratches from the skinny blade.

Moving rapidly across the shrines floor, and momentarily passing through the light in front of Tulugaq, a wererat sinks his teeth into Shandiens exposed neck.



The brutish lycanthrope that disappeared into darkness earlier comes at Tanthalus out of the darkness from around a wooden pew. Club arching down at the clerics head.


A shadowy bolt splits through the patches of light to hit Theo.

Shandien focuses his power and whispers a repeated chant as he moves. Transparent shields floating around the swordmage form of magic. At the same time static builds around the genasi. Shandien brings his sword sweeping in an arch in one direction the sword trailing red glowing sigils. Shifting direction at the end of the arch he brings the weapon back the other way which sends a wave of force out at both wererats.

(I think Galadren can redirect a missed shot, even if he can't see his targets very well - not sure if the wererats are in Total Darkness or just Dim Light at this point, but I'm going to assume Total Darkness and apply -5 penalty.)

Stepping up to the doorway itself, Galadren snaps off a shot at the wererat still battling Shandien.
It's a difficult shot given the darkness in the room, but even if the shot misses its intended target, Galadren had a surprise waiting for the wererats.
If the bolt flies past its intended target, it should hit the wall on the far side of the room and ricochet off the stone, coming back towards the hulking shadow attacking Tanthalus.

Tulugaq's whispered curses did not take hold on the wererat.

Galadrens shot rebounds off the wall but the shrouds of darkness make it even harder to redirect the shot and it clicks off another wall sinking into a pew.

Running his hand around his dagger, licks of lightning dance between his blade and fingers building in power until Theo can no longer contain it, he releases the blast toward the brutish wererat slamming it hard and jolting it around. The arch then leaves the brute and jumps to the other wererat in the melee across the room.

Unable to see any of the wererats, Tanthalus takes out a sunrod and lets its light shine in the darkness that surrounds him.

The light springs forth from the rod and is immediately dimmed by the consuming Obelisk.

Shandien listens for a moment while removing the last of his sunrods. Not hearing anyone fumbling around in the dark, he just launches the rod into an unlight spot of the room. It lands bout where he wanted it and at the lights very edge, dimly outlines a short wererat, wiry, with sharp features.

"Eeeep!" it says.

Dunor staggers toward the singularly-visible wererat, using the faint gleam of the dropped sunrod to see by. Trudging forward, the warrior summons extra strength to make the effort in moving his legs, ending up next to the creature. He swings in a wide arc, hoping to sweep his foe into the light, yet unsure if he would catch the creature with his blade or not.
